However, it’s a lengthy and complicated process. There are a million things that potential parents need to consider and know about.Nonetheless, those who are determined to enrich the lives of one or more orphan children have a world of joy awaiting them.
If you’re looking to adopt an orphaned child, get in touch with the Orphan Life Foundation. We’re an international non-profit organization committed to improving and enriching the lives of homeless and parentless child numbers in Africa.
Emily Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14585310109284164562noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8009674989871692973.post-89738903752912805462011-01-13T12:45:52.718-07:002011-01-13T12:45:52.718-07:00Great Info. This year it is $13,170.00. This website has more info. This means that even if you did not pay for your adoption you still get the refund. http://www.nacac.org/postadopt/taxcredit.html

I really admire people who can do older child adoption. Unfortunately we were talked out of it and ended up doing an infant. I can see now that it was not right for our family situation no matter how much my heart went out to these children.

Our foster/adopted daughter's birth mother was adopted at age 12. She had been in the system since she was 7 and I have heard horror stories that sadden me deeply from her adopted mother about what she went through in foster care.

Unfortunately, she never bonded with her adoptive family and still has a hard life. She once told me that her family treated her like an child and they should have adopted an infant. She was put off that she was expected to come in for dinner when she wasn't hunger or that she had to report in at age 12 like a child.

I think most families would think that a 12 year old should come to dinner and report in but in her 12 year old mind she had already been taking care of herself and seen more than most adults about how rough life can be.

I guess the best thing about any kind of adoption is that you ask Heavenly Father what child is suppose to be in your family and know that with His help you can make it through anything.

I know that we are contemplating a type of adoption that I would have never thought I would be strong enough to do or even have a desire to do but my heart has been softened towards it lately and I am prayerfully considering it.

I did hear that this year the government finally decided that a child could stay in foster care until they were 21 if they needed to. I don't know exactly how it works but I am glad to see that these children can still get help if they want it.Katrinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03779770874867573087noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8009674989871692973.post-50289282880993559082011-01-13T11:48:46.681-07:002011-01-13T11:48:46.681-07:00I sure wish Idaho DHWS was as good as Utah's s...I sure wish Idaho DHWS was as good as Utah's seems to be. I called our DHWS and I told the lady we were interested in adopting from foster care. She said the training was only for those going into foster care. She told me that 90-95% of their cases end in reunification so if I wasn't interested in reunification then foster care wasn't for me.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11187403663708599420noreply@blogger.com
