About Me

Hi my name is Brenda and I have alot to be happy about.
After a very long 5 years and 9 months worth of trying to bring a child into our family (you can read about some of my feelings about this journey here) we were blessed with the most beautiful baby girl I had ever seen! Brenley blessed our home through the miracle of adoption. Two years later another beautiful baby girl blessed our lives. Haley was placed in our arms by her Birth Mother. Then after 3 years and 6 months of hoping, trying treatments again, going through an internet scam and a failed placement Camden came bouncing into our lives as a 8 month old baby! Each step to our family building has been an adventure....each loss has taught us more than we could have ever dreamed and each child has blessed our home and hearts with the sweet and precious understanding the God does hear and answer prayers and His gifts are greater than anything we could have planned for ourselves.
In 2007 we became Foster Parents in hopes of someday adding another child to our family.   We served as foster parents for 4 years.  As of August 1, 2011 we are no longer licensed but hope to return to foster care in the future.  During our 4 years we loved 8 beautiful children ages 0-4.   Two of our sweet newborns stayed with us for most of their first year of life and our 3rd newborn was placed with us as an adoption placement from the first day.   We finalized Spencer's adoption in 2010 and we are so thankful to have him complete our family!

This blog was started as a way to share our family life and our love for adoption with our family and friends but it has turned into that and much more. After saying goodbye to "our favorite baby" Ashanti I needed a place to get my feelings out. Talking about our experiences with fostering babies has lead to other projects...which includes the "project of my heart" .... Matching Mondays where we highlight a few US waiting children each Monday.

I never thought I would become a blogger...but here I am and I am addicted. I love to write, I love to read, I love being a mother and a wife. I have a very supportive spouse who thinks I still look like the girl he married. :)

Brad and I served on FSA National Board together as Co-Vice chairs for 5+ years. We LOVED having the opportunity to serve and share our passion for adoption with others. It has been a life changing, marriage enhancing experience!  We continue to be involved in adoption by serving as Co-Chairs for a non-profit organization called United For Adoption and I serve on the Utah Adoption Exchange Advisory Board.
Serving in the world of adoption brings joy to our hearts!

My other hobbies include: home decorating, crafts, scrapbooking, shopping at target and toys r us and I love to spend time with my family!
Together as a family we enjoy movies, the great outdoors and we love to travel!

Welcome to Another Small Adventure!!
Sending Smiles!
