Creating Life - Bringing Adoption Home

I know you already know this but I just have to say it again....
I love adoption!
Just saying the word brings special feelings to my heart.
A few years ago I had made a list of possible classes that could be taught at that years Families Supporting Adoption National Conference.   One of the class ideas I was really excited about I called  "Bringing Adoption Home".  The presenter would share ideas on  how to create an adoption friendly home.  I guess I was the only one who thought this was a good topic because it never made the cut but I still think of it.   I enjoy putting things in our home (books, art, music, quotes etc) that have a special meaning to our family.  There are many things I place in my home that may not come out and say "adoption" but it was some experience in our adoption journey that created the special feeling towards that item.
(hope this is making sense)
For example.  I have a 12x12 tile that reads "Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale."  For most people that quote is about a romantic love.   For our family it is about the amazing way our family was created and about our Birth Mothers.  We gave each of them a tile just like it.  Once I paint my family room walls I am putting up the quote "Love makes a family" above our family picture.
I am sure you get the idea I am trying to convey.

Recently I saw this post by Amy over at   I loved the idea.  Then as I was going through some scrapbook paper I found a 12x12 sheet that had little phrases about adoption like "Long Awaited, Cherished Child, Grown within My Heart".   There is one big word "Chosen".   I thought this would be the perfect paper for me to try out this cute idea I found on my favorite craft blog.  I already had the frame and the paper.  All I had to do was buy the tissue paper.  I didn't use a 12x12 frame like Amy did because I wanted to just use what I already had at home but I think at some point I will get one.  Overall  I am very happy with the way it turned out.  It isn't perfect but good for a first try.  Next time I will use wider tissue paper, make roses fuller and more of them and put them closer together.
