Finally a Family Home Evening Plan

For a few years I have been trying to find a system that will work for our family.  I think I finally have found the right schedule for us.   It is through reading about how other families run their FHE that helped me realize how we should run ours.  So thank you to all of those women who write about FHE experiences, ideas and share their lessons...it really helped spark ideas.    In the spirit of sharing I thought I would share how FHE will be working in our home this year.

Each Month on the ...

First Monday
  • Teach a lesson dealing with the primary theme for that month.
  • At the end of this lesson we will ask a couple of questions and write down the answers in our Family Journal.
Second & Third Monday
  • Teach a lesson from a topic found in "Preach My Gospel".  Including primary theme when possible.
Fourth Monday

  • Have a mini lesson taken from a conference talk and then play games.

Most FHE we do a treat and when possible I include my kids in helping them prepare the treat.

In Decemeber my 9 year old taught the FHE lesson about the true meaning of Christmas.  It was a lesson they worked on during Achievement Days.   Brenley finished the preparations all on her own and gave a fantastic lesson.   I am hoping she will do a few more this year.

I would love to hear what you do.

I love your plan. We write to the missionaries the first monday of the month. Other than that the person incharge of the lesson, decides what to teach.
