Matching Mondays

Utah
Jason age 6.
This very sweet and affectionate little boy is eager to make the transition into his forever family. Jason brings with him so many wonderful qualities. He is a caring, loving and smart child, who has great sensitivity towards those around him. He is an active guy who enjoys learning new things, a good game of basketball, spending time with others, and also having time to himself. Anything to do with technology captures his interest; especially if it involves phones and video games. Jason thrives on structure and routines. He reacts positively to praise and does well with charts for behavior. He is making great progress with his daily life skills and is proud of his achievements.

This intelligent kid is doing well in kindergarten this year. He has made tremendous academic improvements since coming into care, is on grade level, and even performs better than average in some areas. Jason is attending counseling, which will need to continue after placement.

If you think that you could be part of Jason’s forever family and can offer him a loving, stable, and committed home, we urge you to inquire. Financial assistance may be available for adoption-related services.

For Utah children, only homestudied families from all states are encouraged to inquire.

Oregon Heart Gallery (Washington Child)

Melissa age 14.
Melissa is a beautiful young girl, who has many talents to share with her new family. Melissa is a very bright young lady who has done well in her academics. She loves to play sports, like basketball and she would like the opportunity to do track.
Melissa is very musically inclined, She plays guitar, piano, drums in a band and also chimes. She sings in the school choir and likes all kinds of music, but Country and Pop are her favorites. Spending time with her friends are important to Melissa as well. Melissa likes video games, especially Guitar Hero, and board games like Sorry.

Having adoptive parents who have a good grasp of how early trauma and neglect can impact a child’s sense of safety, well-being, and belonging will be important to helping Melissa move forward in her life. While bilingual parents who speak Spanish/English would help Melissa feel right at home, what is most important is that her new family take pride in her Mexican Hispanic heritage just as Melissa does.

Melissa needs a family that can enjoy her talents and give her the positive attention and encouragement she needs to reach her potential.

Alabama
Antwaun age 7.
Antwaun, born February 2001 is a very charming and energetic child with brown eyes, wavy brown hair and medium complexion. He is a very loving child and likes to please others. He loves attention but also plays well alone. He is able to follow directions and help pick up his toys, comb his hair and brush his teeth. He loves to play outside and ride his bike. He also enjoys playing ball, running around and watching cartoons. His favorites characters are Spiderman, Power Rangers, Batman and Bob the Builder. Recently, Antwaun has taken interest in watching college football and loves the local team.

Antwaun enjoys art projects and story telling activities. He is very creative and has a good memory. Antwaun gets along with adults and older children but tends to be overly competitive for attention with children his own age and younger. Therefore, he would do best in a home where he is the only child or the youngest child. He needs a lot of structure in a home, but most of all he needs a lot of love.
*There is a cute little video clip of Antwaun...take a peek!
