A couple of years ago I had a fun Friday with my Mom, 2 of my sisters and Ashanti. We went to Swiss Days in Midway Utah.
Midway is one of my most favorite places in Utah.
It is beautiful especially in the fall and Brad and I spent our Honeymoon there so it holds a special place in my heart.
Swiss Days is a dream come true for women who enjoy crafts, home decor and really yummy food! So it was like a little piece of heaven as we climbed out of the van to enjoy our shopping adventure. There were many items I would have liked to purchase but at the time money was tight. My Mom and Sisters purchased this really cute home decor item. It was a little wooden ladder that someone had built and then they added tiny berry wreaths that were tied with ribbon. I wanted to purchase one but knew I better not so I promised myself that I would make one sometime.
I finally did it and wanted to share it with you in case you are like me and love things decorated with berries.
My first hurdle was to find a wooden ladder....I measured my Mom's and then put my Dad to work to make me one. After he was finished I added some black paint.
Then I purchased a 9ft strand of birchwood w/ berries garland and then cut 3 smaller strands of approx 28 inches (maybe a little less).

I took one small strand and wrapped into into a circle and molded it to look as symmetric as I could. I wrapped it around 2 1/2 times and arranged it until I was satisfied with the way it looked.
I didn't make them perfectly round because I think they look better with a little personality.

Then I tied it together with some red with white dotted ribbon (any style would work).
I arranged my berries so they would circle around and spread apart to give it a fuller look.
Once I had them looking like a miniature wreath I used some thin craft wire to hook the wreath to the ladder. Once I had all three wreaths attached I had to decide where I wanted to place my finished craft. After deciding between 3 locations I settled on this one for the time being. :)
This wall is screaming for some color...can't wait to paint it!

Thanks Tina! Do you want me to see if my Dad will make you a ladder? I could bring it up with me.
Hugs!
Love it Brenda!
